At Oklahoma State I have taken on improving and streamlining our in-venue graphic design. I believe It’s very important to try to have a similar in-venue look and feel to the graphics that are being distributed on social and through email to our fans.
I’ve not only created the final products but also templates in both Photoshop and After Effects that people across our department can use for the in-venue shows they are in charge of.
Men’s Basketball Logo Loop 2021
Based off the social media look the creative department went with for 2021-2022, this logo loop plays pregame and postgame after losses. It’s also the base template for our sponsored feature segments throughout a show.
Men’s Basketball Starting Lineups
Again based off the social look, this graphic takeover plays when each player is announced during the pregame starting lineup introductions right before tipoff. On the main video screen, we start with the graphic you see here when their name is announced. Then after the graphic plays, we transition to a live shot of the player on the court.
Men’s Basketball Matchup Loop
This matchup loop plays pregame, during the PA welcome and during the visiting team starting lineup introductions. I built an after effects template for this and made a version for all of our opponents this season.
Schedule Templates 2021-2022
Based off each team’s social media looks, I made these graphics to help promote upcoming events during our in-venue shows. Each graphic is a photoshop template so that different people in the department can update them for each home event.
Wrestling Logo Loop 2021-2022
Again based off their social media look, I took some of the iconic looks of Oklahoma State wrestling like the “V” pattern and stripes and made this logo loop to play pregame and postgame after losses. This is also the base template for our sponsored feature segments throughout a show.
Football Touchdown Reacts 2021
This is the graphic takeover for touchdown celebrations for the 2021 football season. This year I added the lower third that would fly on right after the player crossed the line and would stay on after they celebrated. I really liked this addition because it put the player’s faces in front of our fans, something that doesn’t happen often due to helmets. Also, the photo and video choices showed some personality in order to show a different side of our players to fans.
Football Touchdown Reacts 2020
In 2020 I choose to focus the attention on the really high quality video we had. Our preseason shoot went really well that year, so I wanted to make that the main focus and set it in a branded frame. I tried to alternate between tough and personality-driven clips to show both sides of the players.
Men’s Basketball In-Game Sponsored Features After Effects Template
These are some assorted screenshots that give an example of one of my After Effects templates. I built this from scratch to use for the 2021-2022 Men’s Basketball Season. This includes graphics for every display we take over, plus frames and a lower third that animates on and off. This template has made it a breeze to create and update new sponsored takeovers whenever we need them.
